This recording was made during the Haags Notuh Festival on the 14th of June 2015, in which the amateur music ensembles of The Hague presented themselves. I played with Valerius in the Grote Kerk and tried to put the information I gathered over these last months into practise. I don’t know how to upload my video, again!! Windows Media Player, I tried to put it in another format, another map, I used several videos, I tried to make it a YouTube video etc etc etc.

Short conclusion: a positive style of leading is more effective than a negative one: respecting “lower-ranged” people and comforting or motivating them creates better results than an authoritive way of leading does.

Survey for orchestra members
Voor mijn masteronderzoek naar concertmeesterschap zou ik je willen verzoeken deze vragenlijst in te vullen. Het duurt slechts een paar minuten en je zou me erg helpen. Heel erg bedankt!
1) Hieronder staan zes soorten leiderschap, zoals deze voorkomen bij leiders van bedrijven. Ik pas ze echter toe op concertmeesterschap. Welk type leider denk je dat ik ben? Omcirkel deze stijl(en).
Gezaghebbend: motiveert mensen d.m.v. het uitdragen van een visie.
Gelijkwaardig: schept emotionele band en harmonie, geeft voorrang aan individu en zijn emotie boven taken en doelen.
Begeleidend: helpt mensen zich verder te ontwikkelen.
Democratisch: ontwikkelt consensus door participatie van iedereen.
Toonaangevend/tempoaanjagend: de leider (concertmeester in dit geval) staat model voor het te behalen niveau.
Dwingend: eist onmiddellijke volgzaamheid.
2) Duidelijke lichaamstaal is belangrijk voor een concertmeester. Geef een cijfer tussen 1 en 10 voor hoe je mijn lichaamstaal ervaart als je bij mij in de groep speelt. 1 = totaal niet duidelijk, 5 = matig duidelijk, 6 = redelijk duidelijk, 10 = helemaal duidelijk. Kun je uitleggen waarom je dit cijfer geeft?
3) Voel je je beoordeeld? Voel je je veilig?
4) Heb je nog op- of aanmerkingen?
